Calling all 'Young Minds' -- One Week Left to Submit Your Video
You have one week left to charm the pants off of Google with your brilliant young minds. Do you have what it takes to be one of twelve winners headed to Zeitgeist Americas 2011 this fall?
The Young Minds competition is an intercontinental search for a dozen creative "game-changers, innovators and inspirational young people" between the ages of 18 and 24 from the US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico or Argentina. The chosen 12 (sounds sci-fi fabulous, doesn't it?) will spend two days soaking up knowledge and zeitgeist (tsahyt-gahyst, noun, German: "the spirit of the times") in Arizona alongside some of the world's most influential game-changers, innovators and inspirational people-of-all-ages.
You think you have what it takes to break bread with superstars, presidents and princesses (yes, all past guests)? Here's how you prove it: Make a video, no longer than one minute, demonstrating how you're going to change the world for the better. Tell them, show them, blow their minds -- just get the message across that you mean business in this lifetime. Then upload that bad boy to www.zeitgeistyoungminds.com, cross your fingers and wait. After the contest closes on [September 2], the wo/men behind the Zeitgeist curtain will pick 12 exceptional entries and extend invitations. Pretty simple. Here's an example.
Suggested thematic categories include Business, Community, Culture, Education, Environment, Health and Media. Don't worry, there's also Other. You can view the other submissions to see what you're up against. If competition isn't your jam, then browsing the whole lot simply for inspiration is a healthy way to spend the afternoon--but good luck doing so without getting fired up enough to enter. Young Minds are contagious like that.
