The National Collaboration for Youth (NCY), a 40-year-old coalition of
youth-serving nonprofits, has released a national
policy agenda:
Toward a Brighter Future: An Essential Agenda for America's Young People.The agenda is concise, easy to read, inspiring (as you'll see when you open it) and incorporates all aspects of child and youth development. Its specific policy recommendations are designed to help government do a better job of meeting
the needs of America's children and youth in 2009 and beyond.
It's also timely -- federal spending on children has decreased by 10 percent in the past five years;
Toward a Brighter Future gives anyone concerned about children and youth a clear guide to policy
changes and investments that can improve the odds for all our nation's children and youth.
