The Economy is Creating Jobs, But ...
CBPP’s Chad Stone says that things are looking up for jobs in the economy, but we’re a long way from digging out of our deep jobs deficit. He argues that sharp cuts in government spending now will make it even harder to restore a healthy job market. As Stone tells us, and the chart below shows, it will take years to erase the large jobs deficit that the 2007-2009 recession created and to lower the unemployment rate to an acceptable level.
