The Effect of the Recession on Child Well-Being
The recent recession has hit the most vulnerable children and families the hardest. This report finds that (1) it takes years post-recession for families to bounce back to pre-recession income levels; (2) low-income families take even longer to rebound; and (3) public programs play a pivotal role in blunting the negative impacts of a recession.
