This program provides support for the development of a regionalized systems of care designed to alleviate delayed access to specialized healthcare services experienced by populations in tribal, territorial, insular, and rural communities, with a focus on emergency transportation services for injured or critically ill children.

The proposed development of a regionalized system must identify the local capabilities of each jurisdiction’s healthcare system to optimize the sharing of resources; establish a process to manage and treat acutely ill and severely injured children in the populations of focus; and facilitate access to and retrieval of clinical data to provide safe, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care.
