The current recession  has had a negative ripple effect on children's health, well-being and family finances, according to the latest Foundation for Child Development's Child Well-Being Index. The children's poverty rate, expected to peak at 21 percent in 2010, the highest in 20 years. Risky behaviors in adolescence are climbing while, since 1975, educational achievement has remained essentially flat. This chart outlines multiple child well-being indicators.
