Innovating under Pressure: The Story of the 2009 Recovery Act Youth Employment Initiative
This report offers in-depth case studies of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act summer youth employment initiative in four communities (including Illinois, Arizona, Michigan, and Indiana). With $37 million in funding and 16,650 summer jobs created for low-income and disadvantaged youth in the summer of 2009, the report discusses specific innovations used to achieve community goals, and identifies best practices and lessons to inform future summer youth employment initiatives.
