With a social systemic lens, the "Penn Education Design Lab" will tackle complex issues in education by combining scholarly research and design processes that include multi-stakeholder participation and the use of trans-disciplinary teams. The lab will focus on designing education policies and programs by and with stakeholders, not for them and will serve as an incubator for innovative ideas and entrepreneurship. The current focus is in Philadelphia.
Short-term and mid-term assessments will be conducted on interventions and designs produced by the Ed Design Lab, using both qualitative and quantitative assessments. Quick feedback loops are an integral part of the entire design process.
