One in Four Families Can’t Afford to Buy Food

Rates of food hardship (rates of households answering “yes” over the course of a year to the question whether there were times “when you did not have enough money to buy food that you or your family needed”) indicate that one in four households suffers from this type of hardship and in some areas the rate is even higher.
