Paid Sick Leave Gets Court OK in Wisconsin

Paid sick leave is a critical piece of the puzzle that enables success for single-parent families, the majority of whom are headed by women. The National Partnership for Women and Children reports that the Wisconsin Court of Appeals has ruled unanimously to uphold Milwaukee’s paid sick days ordinance. Unfortunately, this victory could be short-lived as the Wisconsin legislature and business lobbies are working to nullify the law.
