The Clean Air Act, passed in 1970, gives the Environmental Protection Agency tools to protect the nation from a number of harmful pollutants that can cause asthma and lung disease – especially in children and teens. In this blog, the White House looks at the law and says that weakening the standards would be hazardous to our health. It includes a link to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson’s 2011 testimony before the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
