The National Urban Alliance for Effective Education alerted us to a New York Times story - “Teacher Training, Taught by Students” – about a promising new effort to include students in teacher professional development, with students giving pointers to teachers in training.  By giving students the opportunity to teach, they can show teachers the best ways they learn and what holds their interest. For teachers, they are able to then adapt their lessons to their students' needs and help foster a relationship of respect between the students and teachers.
