Super Social Media for Super Committee Action

People from all over the country have started using Facebook, Twitter, and other social media to contact members of Congress. More recently, several organizations, including the Children's Leadership Council and First Focus, have organized campaigns and social media days of action aim specifically at the Super Committee asking them to protect children, youth and families in negotiations to reduce the national debt and ensure the final deal includes revenues.  During this critical time of decisions in the Super Committee--they are charged to present a budget plan by Thanksgiving--it is an essential time to advocate strongly to its members to be sure children stay protected.

From reserach, articles, and talking to those who frequent Capitol Hill, we've learned that those in Congress with Twitter and Facebook accounts pay attention to the interactions they have through those mediums. So, the messages you send through social media can make a difference.

The good news is, you don't need a special day or charge to take action using social media on your own.  If you're already on Facebook or Twitter, it is quick and easy to take action right from your computer.  We've saved you some searching time and have listed here the active social media accounts of all the Super Committee members:
