A Two-Generational Child-Focused Program Enhanced with Employment Services
A new report from MDRC contends that two-generational programs and services that aim to address both children’s developmental risks and the unstable circumstances of low-income families can help ensure positive economic outcomes for children living in poverty. The report discusses the challenges faced in implementing the Enhanced Early Head Start program, which couples early childhood development with parental employment and educational services. It explores the short-term effects of the program on parents and their children approximately 18 months after enrollment.
