The youth of today are our future of tomorrow. The low-income youth of today should have access to the best housing and education that the current middle and upper class have. Unfortunately many of these low-income youth come from broken homes, lack of parental supervision and lack of role models. They need leaders they can look up to and rely on. They need support and some semblance of structure. The above can come from community leaders, parent teacher associations, the Big Brother/Big Sister organizations and support from those who have come from the same situations and have made something of themselves. All of the above can keep our kids off the streets, away from drugs, and out of gangs. With proper supervision and the teaching of abstinence, teen pregnancy rates can go lower and lower each year. YouthBuild is vital to our kids today. Please consider the children in your district as your own extended families and ask yourself what is best for them. What would you want for your children and how can I help those in need?
