Young Black Voters: The Future of America
This blog entry from Nonprofit Vote, an organization devoted to engaging nonprofits in voting and voting education, gives a great overview of Cathy J. Cohen's new book. Democracy Remixed: Black Youth and the Future of American Politics addresses the diversity in youth voices in voting and the importance of identifiying the ethnic differences in youth voting. Why? Because voters of different backgrounds have different views on issues. By examining youth factions more closely, Cohen says, we can more accurately mobilize youth voting and understand the base of issues.
