**Healthy Kids: Covering All the Bases
by Julee Newberger
A new survey by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation shows that six out
of 10 parents whose kids may qualify for free or low-cost federal health
insurance don't believe that these programs apply to them. A new campaign
is trying to get the word out to ensure 7 million of the estimated 11 million
children without health insurance in the United States.

**Kids Left Behind in Economic Boom
The good news in these times of plenty, according to the National Center
for Children in Poverty, is that nine states have reduced their child poverty
rates by 30 percent or more since 1993. The bad news is, the national child
poverty rate is still much higher than in 1979.

**Help Start a Nonprofit
Last week, you gave reader Kathy Lei so many great ideas for starting
a nonprofit organization, we decided to keep the discussion going. Please
share your ideas or questions about starting or funding a nonprofit. We
plan to compile the resources for a toolkit on our site, so don't be shy!
